Welcome !!!

Welcome to tzChristmas.com !!

 The home to my Christmas lighting display. I’m Thyno Zgouvas and this site is dedicated to my love of Christmas, Christmas lights, and the joy that they bring to so many during the Christmas season, the happiest time of the year ! Stay awhile, look around and enjoy yourself.

I also want to send out a big "thank you" to my parents, John and Mary.  Your love of Christmas, and your love for me and my 3 sisters, gave us Christmas memories that I will cherish and share for the rest of my life.

My Parents, Sisters and Me
Christmas 1965

2012 will be the 9th year of my animated display. It's going to be a busy year. If you're interested in knowing what I'm doing with the display, as well updates about the HOA, check out the "Updates" section of the website. I'm going to do a better job of updating the site this year.

2011 would have been my 8th Christmas of having an animated display that's synchronized to music. I hit a small bump in the road a few weeks ago with the H.O.A. Board and my next door "neighbor".  This year's display is going to be different than the previous seven years. It's still going to have a little animation to it but not like years past. It's going to be simple, but I really  think you're going to like it. I created a separate page on tzChristmas to let you know what happened. The tab is on the left, at the bottom of all the tabs, and called, "Me and the HOA".  Check it out and then come out and enjoy the lights !

2010 was another great year for the display. Donations this year were off from last year's high. Considering the state of our economy, I was very happy, as was The Montgomery Family Sunshine Center. Our anonymous out of town visitor from last year came through town once again. Amazing donation !! Thank you so much !! Total donations for this year totaled $7,245.00 !! This will go a long way in helping The Montgomery Family Sunshine Center  and their mission to help those who are victims of spouse abuse, child abuse and elderly abuse. Thank you everybody, SO much, that visited and donated ! Your generosity was greatly appreciated ! Thank you too, to all of the visitors that dropped off or mailed cards and notes to me ! Thank you for your kind thoughts. The most special of all the notes and cards were the drawings of the display that children made and placed in my mailbox. I save all of the notes, cards and drawings and place them in a scrapbook to enjoy in my "golden years". They are each treasured and deeply touch my heart.

2005 was the second year of my animated display. Visitors to my display increased dramatically. It was Christmas Eve 2005 when I had the idea to collect donations for a charity.  So, in 2006,  I decided I would collect for The Montgomery Family Sunshine Center. If you would like to know more about the Sunshine Center's mission and all of the fine work they do, visit them by clicking on this link The Montgomery Family Sunshine Center. Please, if you are able, make a donation and let’s help them help people from here in our communities that are victims of child abuse, spouse abuse and elderly abuse. Better yet, come on out to see the display and drop it in the red donation box, on my mailbox.

I hope you enjoy your visit here and always remember the reason for the season;

The birth of God’s Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Christmas Enthusiast Prayer

As I untangle strings of Christmas lights, Lord help me to remember that I do this first to honor You. Never let me get so prideful of my display that I fail to see the wonders in the eyes of a child or the joy on the faces of those who are still children at heart. Never let me forget that my total effort is to make Christmas memories, bring cheer and to slow down the pace of a hectic season, if only for a moment, and focus on the true meaning of Christmas. And Lord, someday when I meet You face to face, I pray that I may hear You say:

“When you made My people smile, you made Me smile.”

Amen
