Long before I ever had an animated outdoor display, I took it to the limit inside too. I start getting the inside of the house ready for Christmas in September too. If I'm not testing lights in the carport on the weekend days and at night, I'm dragging boxes of decorations inside from the storage room. It usually takes me a month to get everything done inside my home.
I collect Department 56 Snow Village pieces. I have 133 pieces from the North Pole and Snow Village Collections and countless little people, trees, cars and countless other accessory pieces that go with it all. I set up 3 artificial trees which includes a 1960's era aluminum Christmas tree, complete with the "disco ball' ornaments and colorwheel. I also set out Santas, snowmen and various other knick-knack things. Everything is set-up inside with the exception of the 2 live trees. They dont arrive until the day after Thanksgiving. The tree in the den is usually between 11 and 12 feet tall and is the largest of all the trees that I decorate. The other live tree is decorated like the live trees of the 1960's. I use the larger C-7 bulbs, old ornaments that I pick up on eBay, lots of silver icicle strands and finish it off with the Misfit Toys underneath it.
